I build things and then I can't shut up about them.
Which is why this site exists.

I'm Andrew. I build things nobody asked for and find out if they're useful. Sometimes they are. Sometimes I learn something better.
Right now I'm deep in local AI — running Gemma 4 models on a 2017 iMac that everyone said couldn't handle it, building agentic workflows that actually work (and documenting the ones that spectacularly don't), and trying to figure out what happens when you stop asking for permission and start shipping.
My approach to building: ship first, polish second, write about it third. Half of what I make starts as a vibe — an AI prompt, a half-formed idea, a "let me just see if this works" session at 2am. Vibe coding is how I prototype. Taste is how I finish.
Imperfection is a feature, not a bug. The constant struggle to accept that? That's what makes it interesting.
I've been building on the internet since 2009. These days I'm trying to leave localhost — stop building in private, start sharing in public. This site is part of that experiment.
What I care about
Local-first AI
Cloud APIs are great until the bill arrives. I want to know what you can do with the hardware you already own. Turns out — a lot more than people think.
Honest benchmarks
Everyone publishes benchmarks on H100s. Nobody tells you what the model feels like on your machine. I benchmark on real hardware with real tasks, and I publish the failures alongside the wins.
Building in public
The dead ends, the breakthroughs, the "why does this work now" moments. I share the process, not just the finished product. Because I'm building some crazy cool stuff, and I'm done keeping it to myself.
Vibe-driven development
Most of my best work starts with "I wonder if..." and an AI as co-pilot. Vibe coding isn't sloppy — it's fast iteration with taste as the quality gate. The vibe gets you 80%. Craft gets you the rest.

Let's build something
I'm most reachable on X. DMs open. If you're building something interesting, I want to hear about it.
